ADPD Leader Sandra Gauci is reportedly considering stepping away from politics following the recent general election. This consideration comes after she narrowly missed securing a seat in parliament.

Ms Gauci expressed criticism regarding the gender quota system, which she believes could lead to her exclusion from parliament. She noted that this mechanism might favour other candidates who received fewer votes than her.

Despite not being elected, Ms Gauci achieved a significant personal result, nearly doubling her vote count from previous elections. She received approximately 950 votes in the 12th district, where she was a strong contender against established candidates from the major parties. The Maltese Herald noted her chances looked slim against Jonathan Attard and Grazziella Galea.
