Labour Party delegates have begun casting their votes in the party's leadership election, a process that is taking place over two days, from June 30th to July 1st. This election follows the Labour Party's recent victory in the general election held in May.

Prime Minister Robert Abela is seeking confirmation of his leadership role, as are deputy leaders Ian Borg and Alex Agius Saliba, in accordance with the party's statute. The vote allows delegates to affirm the current leadership team.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Robert Abela was seen casting his vote, accompanied by his wife Lydia Abela and several other Labour Party officials. The voting process is a key internal democratic exercise for the party.

Both Lovin Malta and Times of Malta covered the ongoing election, highlighting the participation of delegates and the confirmation sought by the party's top officials.

The Labour Party's Extraordinary General Conference officially started today, July 1st, with the purpose of formally confirming the party's leadership. This conference takes place as the two-day voting process by party delegates concludes.
