# Restructured Animal Hospital to Serve as Training Hub for Future Veterinarians

## In brief

- The restructuring of a local animal hospital has made significant progress.
- The facility will also be utilised for the practical training of veterinary students.
- This initiative aims to provide hands-on experience for future veterinarians.

Significant progress has been made in the restructuring of a local animal hospital. This development is set to enhance the facility's capabilities and expand its role within the community.

A key aspect of the restructuring is the hospital's planned use as a practical training centre for students pursuing veterinary courses. This will provide aspiring veterinarians with valuable hands-on experience.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, preparing students for the challenges of animal healthcare. It is expected to benefit both the students and the broader animal welfare sector.

The advanced facilities will allow students to work alongside experienced professionals, gaining exposure to a wide range of cases and procedures. This investment in infrastructure is seen as a long-term commitment to animal health and education.

The animal hospital, located at Ta' Qali, is expected to open its doors in the upcoming academic year. This follows an extensive refurbishment and significant investment in modern equipment.

The upgraded facility will serve a dual purpose: operating as a fully-fledged veterinary hospital while also functioning as a practical teaching centre for MCAST students, providing hands-on training for future veterinarians.
