## In brief

- Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg has urged supporters to gather on the Floriana Granaries.
- The mass rally is scheduled for 20 September, on the eve of Malta's Independence Day.
- The event marks Borg's first year leading the party, with the leader declaring readiness for the next step.

Supporters of the Nationalist Party have been called to attend a mass event on the Granaries in Floriana on 20 September.

The public gathering is scheduled on the eve of Malta's Independence Day, which is commemorated across the country on 21 September.

The event also serves to mark Alex Borg's first full year heading the opposition party following his leadership appointment.

In a message to party faithful, Borg reviewed his initial twelve months in the post and asserted that he is prepared to embark on the next phase.

The open space outside the Floriana bastions, known locally as Il-Fosos, has traditionally hosted the party's primary political gatherings for the annual anniversary.

The demonstration forms part of a wider series of political and commemorative activities organised by the party to celebrate the national milestone.
