# New Leadership Appointed for Gozo Regional Development Authority

## In brief

- Former Labour MP Abigail Camilleri has been appointed chairperson of the Gozo Regional Development Authority.
- Juergen Attard has been named the authority's new chief executive officer.
- The appointments install new leadership at the entity guiding regional policy and planning on the island.

The Gozo Regional Development Authority has named former Labour Member of Parliament Abigail Camilleri as its new chairperson, alongside Juergen Attard as chief executive officer.

The public appointments place a new leadership team in charge of the regional body tasked with policy formulation and socioeconomic planning for Gozo.

Camilleri, who previously served in parliament representing the Labour Party, will lead the authority's board and oversee its broad strategic direction.

Attard takes over as chief executive to manage daily administrative functions, stakeholder engagement, and project execution across the island.

The regional development authority was established to coordinate long-term planning, sustainable growth initiatives, and targeted regional investment tailored to Gozitan priorities.

The leadership transition comes as the entity continues to evaluate strategic initiatives aimed at balancing economic development with environmental protection in Gozo.

## The Spin Room

**Low media divide.** Both outlets reported the appointments factually without notable differences in framing.
