- The political party raised concerns following three hunting incidents recorded during the current month.
- The group called on authorities to prioritise community safety over special interest pressures.

Political party Momentum has raised urgent concerns over public safety across the Maltese countryside, stating that the wellbeing of citizens is being compromised to appease hunting lobby interests.

The party voiced its criticism following three separate hunting-related incidents recorded across the country during the current month, arguing that public spaces are becoming increasingly hazardous for residents.

According to Momentum, the recurring incidents underline an ongoing regulatory failure to protect individuals and families who frequent outdoor recreational areas during open hunting seasons.

The party contended that authorities consistently yield to lobby pressures, leaving outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and local residents vulnerable while attempting to access rural spaces.

Hunting activity in Malta is governed by seasonal limitations and geographic restrictions, yet enforcement and monitoring standards frequently draw scrutiny from environmental campaigners and civic groups.

Momentum urged regulators to re-evaluate current oversight mechanisms and ensure that the safety of the public remains paramount over private lobby considerations.
