# Construction Underway on €21m Social Housing Project in Cospicua

## In brief

- Construction has started on a new social housing complex in Cospicua featuring 69 residential apartments.
- The project represents a public capital investment of approximately €21 million.
- The development includes 97 dedicated parking spaces alongside the newly built residences.

Construction works have formally commenced on a major social housing development in Cospicua, aimed at expanding modern residential facilities within the Cottonera region.

The complex is set to deliver 69 self-contained apartments designed to meet contemporary social housing standards and support local families requiring accommodation.

Funding for the scheme involves an estimated capital outlay of around €21 million, covering the structural building phase through to the eventual full finish of the units.

In addition to the housing units, the design incorporates 97 designated parking spaces to serve residents and help ease parking pressure in the surrounding neighbourhood.

The initiative forms part of ongoing public investment programmes intended to regenerate older urban areas while increasing the national stock of affordable housing.

Civil works at the site are now proceeding through initial groundwork, with construction teams advancing the foundational phases of the build.
