Residential Property Sales and Prices Continue to Rise

In brief

  • The number of residential property sales in February reached 1,095 transactions.
  • The total value of these sales exceeded €350 million, a 6.1% increase in volume.
  • Official figures show that both the number of deeds and their total value are maintaining an upward trend.

Malta's residential property market remained active in February, with new data showing a continued increase in both the volume and value of sales. According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), 1,095 final deeds of sale were recorded during the month.

The total value of these transactions reached over €350 million. This represents a steady growth compared to previous periods, with the number of sales increasing by approximately 6.1%. The figures suggest that demand for housing remains high despite broader economic pressures.

In addition to final deeds, the number of promise of sale agreements—which indicate future market activity—also showed a positive trend. The data confirms that the property sector continues to be a major driver of the local economy.

Analysts note that the consistent rise in prices and transaction numbers reflects ongoing investment in the real estate sector, both by local buyers and international investors.
