Nationalist Party Unveils Extensive Proposals for Gozo

Earlier, Fil-Qosor reported on the Nationalist Party's criticism regarding Gozo investment. Today, the Nationalist Party (PN) has unveiled a comprehensive set of proposals aimed at improving infrastructure, healthcare, and security in Gozo, should it be elected in the upcoming general election.

Among the key pledges is a plan for a new 400-bed hospital in Gozo. This proposed facility would be part of a National Hospitals Network, featuring modern technology and a helipad located near the Emergency Department.

In addition to healthcare, the PN has addressed security and social support in Gozo. Proposals include establishing a specialised support centre for domestic violence victims, offering a safe and private shelter with immediate assistance. The party also suggested creating a specialist police unit and implementing court reforms to enhance security across the island.

Furthermore, the Nationalist Party outlined plans for significant upgrades to Gozo's maritime infrastructure. These include an expansion of Mġarr Harbour, the exploration of new port options, and a reform of freight services. The party stated that the Mġarr Harbour expansion would involve consultation with various stakeholders, including businesses, fishermen, non-governmental organisations, and operators.

PN leader Alex Borg, who put forward many of these proposals, stressed that Gozo requires a "new breath" to ensure it receives the priority it needs. He highlighted the importance of consistent project delivery for Gozitans, rather than just promises.

The Nationalist Party has continued to detail its vision for Gozo, with new proposals emerging from both Nationalist MP Alex Borg and party leader Bernard Grech.

Nationalist MP Alex Borg has vowed to establish a new port in Gozo, aiming to address the island's status as an "afterthought." Borg emphasised the need for a complete overhaul of Gozo, stating that the current Labour government has failed to deliver on the island's needs.

Separately, Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech proposed the creation of a specialised police squad. This squad would be specifically tasked with combating drug trafficking and other criminal activities within Gozo.

Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg, speaking at a 'Meet the Candidates' political activity in Munxar, Gozo, earlier this evening, apologised for the party's past mistakes. During the event, held in Munxar's church square for the 13th district, Mr Borg pledged a fresh start for the Nationalist Party.

He emphasised the importance of learning from previous errors and reaffirmed the party's commitment to its foundational values as it looks towards future electoral challenges.
