A new €3 customs duty will be introduced on parcels arriving in Malta from countries outside the European Union, effective from 1 July. This charge will apply to items valued up to €150.

The new duty is intended to cover the costs associated with customs processing for these low-value consignments. It will be applied in addition to any Value Added Tax (VAT) that is already due on the imported goods.
