In light of recent sea tragedies, including the death of the teenager and the critical condition of a toddler in Marsaxlokk, calls have emerged for widespread national CPR training.

The Malta Resuscitation Council and an emergency doctor highlighted the importance of community response, noting that currently, fewer than 40% of cardiac arrest victims receive CPR from bystanders. They emphasised that immediate CPR can significantly improve survival rates.
