During his appearance in court, Mr Schembri denied multiple allegations that were contained in secret recordings played for the jury.
He also informed the jurors that Yorgen Fenech had indicated his involvement in the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia during a conversation between them.
However, Mr Schembri insisted that he believed Mr Fenech was not acting alone in the murder and was under the influence of drugs at the time of their discussion.
This marked the 25th day of the ongoing trial concerning the assassination of Ms Caruana Galizia.
