A 17-year-old youth is fighting for his life following an e-scooter accident in Safi during the early hours of Monday morning.

Police officers were called to Triq iż-Żurrieq at around 3:00 am after reports were received that emergency assistance was required on site.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenager had been riding an e-kick scooter when he lost control of the vehicle and overturned.

Emergency medical teams provided immediate assistance at the scene before transferring the injured teenager to Mater Dei Hospital for urgent care.

Medical staff subsequently certified that the youth is suffering from serious injuries and remains at risk of dying.
