SDM has successfully retained its majority within the Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) following the latest student election results. The group now holds eight out of the 12 seats on the council.

In the elections held on Wednesday, SDM secured five of the nine contested seats. This number is in addition to three candidates who had already been elected unopposed, bringing their total to a clear majority.

Despite SDM's overall majority, an independent candidate, Nick Muscat, was elected as the new KSU president. This outcome reflects a split in leadership roles within the student council.

Earlier, Fil-Qosor reported on the KSU election results, confirming that independent candidate Nick Muscat was elected President of the University of Malta's student council (KSU).

Newsbook highlighted that Muscat's victory signifies the end of Studenti Demokristjani Maltin's (SDM) long-held grip on the presidency. Running without any party affiliation, Muscat successfully challenged the traditionally dominant student organisation for the top leadership role within the university's student body.
